Lin R. Visel is a self taught illustrator based in Santa cruz, CA. She first began drawing at the early age of 10. At 12 she was introduced to Photoshop by her father and became self taught in editing and inking her own scanned drawings by mouse. Several years later she was handed down a drawing tablet and began to learn the techniques of digital painting. Effort comics is Oven's first webcomic and is intended as a way for her to experiment with the comic scene.

Influenced by John K, Adam Hughes, Richard Williams, Harvey James, Becky Cloonan, Tsutomu Nihei, Kiyohiko Azuma, Brandon Graham, Shouji Sato, Shirow Masamune, and so many more.
