A Brief History:
Otenba Files is set in the year 2251, years after NEO's fourth World War. The planet NEO stands for New Earth's Odyssey and it resembles Earth in eco-structure. Humans are from Earth, Earth now is mostly underwater so many of its refugees come to NEO to live where it is lush in so many resources but even now the humans are slowly taking advantage of its nature's bounty.

Full animal hybrids are the result of InfoTek's experiment to try to create the perfect obedient soldiers but during the third World War on Earth, many of these hybrids were put to death because there were no use for them anymore. Hybrids protested heavily for their right to live hence started up a new war for a few years. They all called it a ceasefire and a truce when the world was in the midst of extreme natural disaster. Many of the hybrids evacuated to NEO to live their lives there with little prejudice but many of the older generation still despise humans. Many went on to mix with humans to make more humanlike crossbreeds, hence the likes of Tamka and so many other characters in the Otenba Files comic.

NEO is made up of a cyberpunk setting, sprawling with hundreds of different creatures and monsters. Creatures that are native to NEO originally are the Konori Clans (which is what Raine is) these creatures are wolfish/catish in looks with long ears, clan markings, vibrant coloured hair and long tails. Many Konori's are traditional fighters and rarely use technology such as guns and explosives. Now these Clans are rare and now only a handful of them live to carry on their bloodlines.
