Alleged Whiskey is a webcomic set in the fictional small town of Hopton’s Vale, California. The year is 1928 and Prohibition is in full swing, forbidding the consumption of alcohol in the United States. Talkies are just starting to become mainstream entertainment, and with Hollywoodland just a few hours drive down the coast, Hopton’s Vale is quite literally at the brink of the Golden Age of Cinema. The townspeople are swept up in the whirlwind of Hollywood glamor, and the Milky Way Theatre, complete with the town’s secret speakeasy, The Mars Bar, concealed in its interior, is the happening place to be.

Although the town has a small population, almost everyone is eager to bask in the glow of Hollywood, and most citizens are hoping the movie-making craze will expand up the coast. However, the town’s only claim to fame is its illustrious animal actor, Reginald the Duck. Reginald is the most celebrated duck in show business and has made a number of silent films, much to the delight of the people in his hometown.
