The Inhibitor is a "what if" alternate universe (AU) comic that expands on Shadow's lore by incorporating new ideas and plot points that could reasonably fit within the existing canon. The “what if” aspect of this comic is simply referring to the “what if” there was MORE to Shadow’s lore. (EX: What if Gerald’s researchers were more involved with Shadow’s creation? What if there were more people with NIDs? What if there were more prototypes of Project Shadow?)
