War in the Shade is a low-key fantasy drama webcomic about people having emotions in the desert. The plot centers on Ada Feldon, and erstwhile medical student too nice for her own good. For her own reasons, she accepts a marriage proposal from Cross Thederin, a man she barely knows. As Ada befriends her new bodyguard Khimaera, they both start to wonder whether Cross’s business is shadier than either of them had guessed. Meanwhile, police Constable Chazei Di’s big gay crush on her sergeant gets her wrapped up in an investigation beyond her paygrade.

At its heart, War in the Shade is about relationships–romantic, platonic, antagonistic–and the way they affect us–good, bad, and in between. (Along with a healthy dose of worldbuilding, culture clash, and language exploration!)
