On one side of the wall, life continues on as normal. The other side becomes a lawless no man’s land full of various survivor groups, struggling to get the basic supplies they need to get by.
Years later, a child is born who seems to be immune to the zombie virus. The survivors taking care of him realize there are three questions they have to answer:
How do they prove he is really immune?
How do they create an antidote from his blood?
How do they distribute it?
It is the pursuit of these questions that drives the bulk of the story.
