Piperka

is a 1980s crime-thriller set in an alternate world where aliens made human contact in antiquity; it explores the pitfalls of the American Dream through the eyes of its alien protagonist, Maks. He is a young alien migrant, who seeks to start a new life in Nevada and leave his turbulent homelife behind, yet finds himself unemployed and homeless. Desperate, he soon finds work running drugs for the mob, where his circumstances begin to improve under the dubious guidance of his boss, Aisel, who keeps him on a tight leash of drug addiction and violence. Maks eventually has to make a difficult decision as his demons begin to overwhelm him: continue down the dangerous path he has chosen, or risk destroying the life he started in the first place.
